Definitely have travel on my mind (granted it’s rare for me not to ) - my mom jokes that I was traveling transatlantic before I could walk (just the nature of having family on opposite sides of the earth). When I heard the return flight theory it really struck something in me; basically the hard part of travel isn’t going somewhere - it’s coming home. On your trip you will have grown and expanded - had new experiences, met new people , seen different things. You change so much in subtle ways that you can’t put your finger on- this change becomes part of the fiber of your being. Coming home to a world that hasn’t experienced this profound change, to people who haven’t changed in this way can be so hard sometimes. Home just doesn’t fit the way it used to (growth is hard). One simple thing we can do is to change our home , not drastically- but add a few keepsakes to our space, hang up some new photos- bring a bit of your expansion home with you and make it part of your home.
