The Chainsaw nun (a true story )
I always think this story is a great example on how important it is not to just take care of what’s inside our home , but also take care of the environment around our home (as much as we can).
In 2017 Hurricane Irma came through South Florida , tons of trees fell due to the storm. A Carmelite nun who lives in the West Kendall neighborhood of Miami decided to do what she could to help. Dressed in full habit sister Margret decided to take a chainsaw that was in the storage closet in her school and start chopping trees - I remember watching this on local news and how she inspired residents of the neighborhood to join her in helping clear what they could.
"The road was blocked, we couldn't get through," Sister Margaret Ann told CNN. "And I saw somebody spin in the mud and almost go into a wall, going off the road. So, there was a need, I had the means — so I wanted to help out.”
Sister Margret is pretty cool (she is also a Harlem Globetrotter !
Take care of your neighborhood and it will take care of you
